The Vaganova Dance Society, a non-profit organization, hosted a 5-day ballet workshop on:
Date: August 24 – 28, 2015
Location: Edmonton Dance Factory studio (2764 Ellwood Dr SW Edmonton, Alberta).
The Society has invited Russian Guest Teacher, Vladimir Tcal from the Mikhailovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg to conduct master classes in classical repertoire, variations, character and pas de deux (along with two other male professional dancers).
The Russian Vaganova Ballet Technique combines the best techniques to offer a clear, strong and concise system providing an infallible way of teaching classical ballet. Special attention in this style is given to the port de bras, head and turning of the shoulders to create a harmonious and coordinated movement of the entire body.
Nowhere in Canada is such an intense training program offered in the Vaganova ballet method.
Dancers from 8 years to adult will be offered classes from beginner to advanced levels. In addition to the ballet portion of the workshop, Contemporary classes will be offered by guest instructor Erica Day.
